We are a team of passionate individuals committed to making a difference in the lives of fellow refugees in our communities as those who experienced the challenges firsthand.

Ngong Gabriel Wei

Patron & Board Chairman

Ngong is the Board Chairperson and Patron of Dongriin Foundation. He is an accomplished professional with Master of Arts Degree in Development Studies and Hons Bachelor degree in Social Work and Social Administration. He trained in several professional courses, including Professional Certificate in Child Protection and Family Studies (PCCP&FS), Professional Certificate in Monitoring and Evaluation (PCM&E) and Professional Certificate in Disaster Preparedness and Management (PCDP&M). He is a current Post Graduate Diploma Candidate in Education with an emphasis on Institutional Management and Teaching in Higher Institutions.

Ngong has over ten years of experience as a Social Worker and Development Specialist. He was a former Dean of students and visiting lecturer at Bugema University, Arua Campus. He’s the current Assistant Manager for Planning & Research at South Sudan Pensions Funds. Ngong brings a wealth of experiences to Dongriin Foundation as a member of the National Association of Social Workers of Uganda, Uganda Gender Champion Alliance and Professional Counselling Association of Uganda.

Anyieth Philip Ayuen - Wisdom

Board Secretary

Anyieth has been the Executive Director of Dongriin Foundation since 2019, leading the organization with determination, philosophical principles, and objectivity. He is a final-year student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture at Bugema University under the Dafi Scholarship by Windle International Uganda.

Anyieth’s leadership journey began in 2011 with community service in the church, and he has held various prominent positions, including President of the Bugema University Dafi Students’ Association, Vice President of the School of Natural Sciences, Electoral Commissioner of Bugema University Students’ Association, and General Secretary of Bugema University South Sudanese Electoral Commission.

Throughout his leadership roles, Anyieth has been recognized with awards, including a Certificate of Appreciation for impactful community outreach to Nakivale Refugee Settlement in Western Uganda. He is known for his eloquence as a public speaker. Anyieth’s hobbies include reading, travelling, and listening to music. He strongly believes in the responsibility of giving back to the community, considering it a fundamental duty of every community member.

Patrick Chandiga Justine Abure

Board Member

Chandiga, a multi-generational refugee from South Sudan, is a local peacebuilder, evangelist, founder, and chair of the Community Empowerment for Creative Innovation (CECI Uganda) board of directors. He is also a Global Youth Ambassador, Alumnus of the Watson Institute and the Young African Leaders Initiative, and former Executive Director of CECI Uganda, a refugee-led organization improving the safety and well-being of over 50,000 refugees annually. He is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Community Development and Global Studies at Western University under the sponsorship of the World University Service of Canada.

With over 7 years of practical experience in organizational leadership, humanitarian operations, resource mobilization, project management, and peacebuilding within refugee and displaced settings, Patrick is a humanitarian with heart. Patrick’s vision is to build a more peaceful, inclusive, safe, and sustainable community that works for all.

He is passionate about empowering individuals and local humanitarian actors working with children, youth, women, and refugees. He aims to help them develop strong organizational systems and practices that drive strategic leadership, enhance operational management, and optimize resource mobilization to achieve their desired strategic goals and serve their communities better. As a devoted Dongriinian, he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in organizational set-up to the Board of Directors.
